TIDWORTH soldiers are getting acclimatised to jungle life as they spend the next month developing survival skills in Brunei.
Y Company, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, based at Tidworth, are taking part in jungle warfare training where they will be learning to live, survive and fight in the unique training environment.
The troops will be living in the jungle for the next month, training in heat that has exceeded 35 degrees and learning how to use their environment to their advantage.
So far the soldiers have been learning to live off the land, which has involved identify edible plants and fruits, learning to track and trap animals; using the environment around them to collect water and build a fire, before putting all the skills together to prepare food
