A fighter jet made an emergency landing at RAF Lakenheath on Thursday in dramatic scenes that saw sparks shoot from its undercarriage.
Kurt Fairhurst was watching the planes at the US air base in Suffolk on Thursday morning when he saw the incident.
It is believer the F-15 fighter jet caught its arrestor wire with its hook, which caused the sparks as it landed on the runway.
Mr Fairhurst said: "It was rather impressive to see as I've never seen an aircraft take the emergency cable before.
